The correct use of welding guns is crucial for ensuring welding quality and operational safety. The following are the detailed steps for using the welding gun:
1、 Preparation work
Choose the appropriate welding gun: Depending on the welding material, welding process, and welding position, choose the appropriate type of welding gun, such as manual welding gun, semi-automatic welding gun, or fully automatic welding gun.
Wear protective equipment: Before operation, personal protective equipment such as protective goggles, welding gloves, and fire-resistant clothing must be worn to prevent burns caused by flying sparks and molten metal.
Check the welding gun: Ensure that all components of the welding gun (such as nozzles, conductive nozzles, cables, etc.) are intact, undamaged, or worn to avoid affecting the welding quality.
Connect welding power supply: Insert the welding machine plug into the compatible power socket and ensure that the cable is firmly connected.
Cleaning the work area: Ensure good ventilation in the work area, keep away from flammable materials, and clean the metal surfaces to be welded to ensure that there are no impurities such as oil stains, oxides, or coatings.
2、 Operation process
Cleaning the welding gun: Before starting welding, use a specialized cleaning brush or cotton swab to clean the nozzle of the welding gun to prevent slag from blocking the nozzle.
Adjust welding parameters: Adjust the current, voltage, and gas flow rate of the welding machine according to the requirements of the welding material and process. These parameters have a significant impact on welding quality and require careful adjustment.
Preheat welding gun: Turn on the welding gun switch and preheat the nozzle. The preheating time depends on the welding material and process requirements, usually 10-30 seconds.
Wire feeding: Feed the welding wire into the conductive nozzle, paying attention to the moderate wire feeding speed, neither too tight nor too loose.
Start welding: Align the welding gun nozzle with the welding position and press the switch to start welding. During the welding process, maintain a constant distance between the nozzle and the welding position to ensure the uniformity of the weld seam. At the same time, pay attention to controlling the welding speed and wire feeding speed to ensure that the welding rod or wire is fully integrated with the weld seam.
3、 End and maintenance
End welding: After welding is completed, turn off the welding gun switch first, and then turn off the gas source. Wait for the welding gun to cool down before cleaning and maintenance.
Cleaning the welding gun: Clean the welding slag and impurities at the tip of the welding gun to ensure good conductivity. At the same time, check whether the various components of the welding gun are intact, and if there is any damage, repair or replace them in a timely manner.
Storage of welding gun: Store the welding gun in a dry and ventilated place to avoid moisture and damage.
